It seems that's not always working for me though. I have the same question I tried to h61m-hve the steps in both h61m-hcs the first 2 troubleshooting lists on top, but I cannot rollback because the option bar remains greyed out and I cannot rollback either.

I've tried your procedure and the driver you provided works with the speaker output, but it not with the digital one SPDIF. Shit software, shit drivers.

This works but my sound on Windows 8 was a u61m-hvs better than it is now, I can hardly hear the bass even after fiddling with the sound enhancers. The settings influence the ability to install drivers at all and whether windows decides to update them on non-individual measures - you might need to rollback drivers in case windows eruates to have a newer better suited driver which possibly doesn't work too.

But Windows keeps updating to some driver that doesn't work.

Most people have the option of headphones on the list of playback devices. This thread is locked. Just had to remember to delete driver files too during step 3. HDaudio deck boot ups, but don't work. Hey, this seems to be the solution.

I get sound through my headphones, but if I unplug, set speakers to default, no sound at all. For real though, Via is being really shady about this. All 5 channels now work properly.
